Welcome to Microanalysis

Featuring real-time software demonstrations, this webinar reviews the core of the Thermo Scientific™ Pathfinder™ software platform design philosophy and provides a complete insight into the powerful capabilities of the most modern SEM/EDS and WDS system available.

The Pathfinder software platform is the latest revolution in X-ray Microanalysis technology. Featuring an ultra-modern user interface, Pathfinder software platform provides a seamless and intuitive user workflow.

At its core, Pathfinder software platform provides the analytical power to drive results quickly and with confidence. It includes the following four analytical modes:

  • Spectrum
  • Point & Shoot
  • Line Scan
  • Mapping

One mouse click begins the data acquisition, while the analytical tools automatically process and display the results in real-time for analytical review.

Visual cues such as synthetic spectral overlay supply your confidence in the data analysis. Your results are not only complete but completely accurate. Spectra from multiple regions are easily overlayed for comparison. The Spectral Match library provides instant comparisons to stored spectra.

The results are then sent to a report generated with either Microsoft® Word or PowerPoint® software. Our unique “take your data anywhere” philosophy and full site-license of the Pathfinder software platform’s Spectral Imaging capability enables any analyst to review the results anywhere, anytime.

The power of SEM/EDS and WDS capability within the Pathfinder software platform comes from its mapping capabilities:

  • Start with spectral background subtraction and separation of overlapping peaks
  • Add quantitative analysis within each pixel
  • Finish with a unique suite of X-ray imaging filters

The result is most meaningful set of element maps are displayed and updated as fast as the X-rays are acquired. A single click enables the change-over from Element maps to full chemical imaging with the proprietary Thermo Scientific™ COMPASS Phase mapping software.
